The Aromatherapists Society

If you are saying to yourselves ‘at last, an aromatherapy society for aromatherapists’ then you will be joining the many letters and phone calls we have had asking for just that. And when we say ‘we’ that is exactly what is meant. The Aromatherapists Society does exactly what it says and provides a society for aromatherapists, run by members for members.

So, we have a web site for the dissemination of news, information and a talking shop for any of you who would like to use it. Browsing through the site you will find the 'Contact us' page, where you can give us your views, ideas, opinions, questions or indeed whatever you like. On the 'Forum' page you can share your thoughts and ideas with other members as well. The society has been started by some very long standing and eminent people in the world of aromatherapy for you and, of course, for us. If you have any questions about oils, clients and so on, there is bound to be someone out there with the answer.

Your membership subscription gets you a smart certificate to stick on your wall and access to ‘member only’ parts of the web site, which you will be able to access with a password. This will include an updated newsletter to tell you about new things going on. It gets you onto the society register where you can choose whether or not to be available for public referral. It gets you an individual vote linked to your membership number, not that we think you are going to need it very often because there will not be a committee telling you what to do. We are all going to suggest things to each other and arrive at a consensus. Can we be fairer than that?

If you need it you can get very competitively priced insurance through the society, which will cover you for up to two million pounds. There are lots of add on extras if you want them and you can ask for additional therapies as well.

So, we really hope that this sounds like a common sense society without hierarchy or elitism. Join in if you want to and do not worry if you just want to ‘belong’, that is ok too! All you have to be is an aromatherapist. If there is anything else you think we should do, let us know but be warned, you may finish up doing it yourself for the benefit of everyone.
